- My name is Rebecca and I am a consultant and writer living in Brooklyn. Like many aspiring writers I read a lot of books about writing. I am desperate for insight into the process, what works, what doesn't, how to get this jumble of words flying around my head cohesively onto paper, and how to stay sane while doing it. There are some wonderful books out there - and I will be blogging about some of them - but I have yet to come across something that speaks to what the process is like for the beginner, the first timer. I thought it could be useful to chronicle that first timer experience in real time. Maybe it will help other new writers? Maybe it will help me not want to kill myself after a bad day at the computer? Who knows? At the very least, I will have a record of my time spent figuring out this whole writerly thing.
